Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about controls, features, accuracy, and local browser saving.

How does Pointer Pointer locate my mouse cursor so accurately?

Every time you move your mouse or drag your finger across the stage, our engine records your exact (x, y) pixel coordinates relative to the canvas. After 1.2 seconds of stillness, it selects a screen edge at least 250 pixels away and computes the exact polar angle θ = atan2(Ty - Oy, Tx - Ox) and Euclidean distance D so the procedural index finger lands directly on your cursor with zero pixel offset.

Does this game download hundreds of photo files like the original site?

No! Zero external images are downloaded. Traditional pointer sites fetch hundreds of static JPEG photographs over the network, which can lag or get blocked on school Wi-Fi. Our Dynamic Procedural Canvas Edition draws every cartoon glove, cyberpunk android arm, meme cat paw, and 8-bit pixel hand in real time using pure HTML5 Canvas 2D vector math.

Can I play Pointer Pointer on a school Chromebook or touchscreen phone?

Yes. The arena supports both desktop mouse cursors (on Chromebooks, Windows, and Mac) and touch drag events on smartphones and tablets. Simply slide your finger to any spot on the canvas and hold still for 1.2 seconds.

What happens if I keep moving my cursor without stopping?

As long as your pointer stays in motion, the radar remains in tracking mode and any active pointing arm smoothly retracts. The moment you pause for 1.2 seconds, the sonar lock-on sequence begins and a new arm reaches out to point at your new location.
