How accurate is this online metronome?
Unlike standard JavaScript setInterval which can lag under system load, this metronome uses a high-precision lookahead audio scheduler built on the browser's hardware-clocked Web Audio API (sample-accurate timing).
How does Tap Tempo work?
Tap the "TAP TEMPO" button in time with your music at least 2–3 times. The metronome measures the millisecond intervals between your taps and automatically calculates the matching BPM.
What do the different beat sounds mean?
Beat 1 (the downbeat) plays with a higher pitch accent (880 Hz) so you always know where each measure starts. Subsequent beats play a standard click (440 Hz).
What time signatures are supported?
You can switch between 2/4 (March), 3/4 (Waltz), 4/4 (Common Time), and 6/8 (Compound Meter) with animated LED beat visualizers.
