Mouse Double-Click Detector (Hardware Fault Test)

Mechanical microswitches (such as Omron or Kailh switches in gaming and office mice) rely on a thin metal spring leaf. Over time, metal fatigue and electrical contact oxidation cause switch "chatter" or bouncing, where a single physical press triggers two or more electrical switch signals in under 80 milliseconds.

Human finger muscles cannot physically click twice in less than 80ms. If the detector registers a click interval below 80ms (often between 5ms and 40ms), it is almost guaranteed to be a hardware microswitch bounce fault.

Optical switches (like Razer Optical or Roccat Titan Optical) use light beam interruption rather than physical electrical contact points, making them virtually immune to debounce chatter and double-clicking issues.

If your mouse is under warranty, contact the manufacturer for an RMA replacement. Otherwise, you can increase software debounce delay in gaming mouse software (e.g., Logitech G HUB, Razer Synapse) or solder new replacement switches.
