What is a Lenny Face ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) and where did it originate?

The Lenny Face (also known as ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), Le Lenny Face, or Le Face Face) is a famous text-based emoticon created using Unicode characters. It originated on the Finnish imageboard Ylilauta in November 2012 before going massively viral on 4chan, Reddit, and Twitch chat as a playful symbol for mischievous innuendo, sarcasm, and meme spam.

What are "Dongers" and how do they differ from Lenny Faces?

The term "Donger" originally came from League of Legends player Michael "Imaqtpie" Santana regarding the champion Heimerdinger ("Raise your dongers ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ﾉ"). Over time, the gaming community adopted the word "Donger" as an umbrella term for all intricate Unicode ASCII faces, including Lenny faces, table flips, shrugs, and armed warriors.

Can I use Lenny faces in Twitch chat, Discord, and Reddit?

Yes! All emoticons in our directory are composed of standard UTF-8 Unicode characters. They can be copied with a single click and pasted directly into Twitch streams, Discord messages, Reddit comments, YouTube live chats, and Steam or Roblox profile names without installing any fonts or extensions.

How do I build a custom Lenny face?

Use our Interactive Custom Lenny Builder at the top of the page. You can customize the left arm, eyes, mouth/nose, and right arm independently, or click the 🎲 Randomize button to invent brand new expressions. Once you like your creation, click "Copy Custom Face" to paste it anywhere.

Why does table flip (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ and shrug ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ use special symbols?

Emoticons like the Table Flip and Shrug incorporate Japanese Katakana characters (such as ツ "tsu" for the smile) and box-drawing symbols (┻━┻ for the table legs) alongside mathematical brackets to construct recognizable physical actions directly in plain text.
